Joohan Kim is a professor in the Department of Communication at Yonsei University. He earned a master's degree in Political Science from Seoul National University and a doctoral degree in Communication from the University of Pennsylvania. Currently, he leads the 'Human Communication Research Lab' at Yonsei University, focusing on inner communication, meditation, resilience, communication competence, and neuroscientific research using brain imaging techniques (fMRI, EEG). He has served as Dean of the Graduate School of Communication & Arts, board member of the Korean Cognitive Science Society, Korean Association for Mind-Brain Education, and advisor for the Korean Academy of Meditation Medicine. He also works as a mental coach for Yonsei University's baseball team since 2017. Professor Kim emphasizes that communication research is fundamentally about "connecting the inner self with others through authentic dialogue and mindful presence." |
